Why Darker skinned People Need More Vitamin D

Dark skin color protects humans from cancer causing UV light. At the same time it reduces the manufacturing of vitamin “D”. Since dark skin humans started out in the center of Africa, they got lots of sunlight. They say we started out with light skin under our hair but as we lost our hair our skin started to darken to protect us from UV. The farther people moved north the less sunlight, thus less UV as well. We needed lighter skin then to produce enough vitamin “D”. One other source for vitamin “D” is fish and shell fish which helps people who live farther north, and who do not get enough sunlight to get their vitamin “D”. Countries like in Scandinavia, have a diet that is high in fish. Always survival of the fittest. We now can supplement with chemicals such as vitamin “D” to reduce the death rate due to changes in our environment or diseases.

“T” cells are an important in the fight against diseases. Run away “T” cells can cause more problems like autoimmune diseases. Vitamin “D” is an inhibitor to “T” cells thus controlling them. Vitamin “D” maintains “T” cells homeostatic proliferation.

We find that flu and other pathogens disappear in the spring and come back in the fall. We have more sunlight in the summer thus producing more vitamin “D”. Now we have Covid-19 killing darker skin people at a far higher rate than whiter skin people. We will most likely find that darker skin people have far lower vitamin “D” in their system. I propose that, after talking to their doctor, that if you have dark skin or lack of sunlight, you should start taking 1000 iu to 4000iu of vitamin “D3” every day.  It takes around 72 hours to build up your vitamin “D”.

We have the majority of the population not getting symptoms so they are protected before they got infected. Is the difference in the vitamin “D” in their system? We need to test their blood to find out the difference between sick and low symptom people and find out what the difference is. In other words find out why some people hardly get sick and see if you can use that information so others do not get real sick or die.
