Why are we not asking this Question?

The question is, why are most people surviving corvid-19? Some people don’t even show symptoms. I have one suggestion that might explain it. It may be vitamin “D”. Sure there may be more answers, but a least I’m looking at the ones that don’t get sick, not the ones that do. You can say that over millions of years our bodies have developed systems to fight diseases without modern medicine. A lot of what we developed to fight off diseases was a system called herd, where the stronger survive. They have talked about it today and in Sweden they are sort of trying it. This systems have a lot of deaths like in some of the following Pandemics.

  1. HIV/Aids,( 2005-2012) Killed 36 million world wide
  2. FLU Pandemic H3N2 (1968) Killed 1 million world wide
  3. Asian FLU  H2N2 (1956-1958) Killed 2 million world wide
  4. FLU Pandemic (1918) Killed 20-50 million world wide
  5. Sixth CHOLERA Pandemic (1910-1911) Killed 800,000 in India
  6. FLU pandemic H3N8 (1889-1890) Killed 1 million, part of Turkestan, northern Canada and Greenland.
  7. Third CHOLERA Pandemic (1852-1860) Killed 1 million world wide
  8. The BLACK DEATH Bubonic Plague (1346-1353) Killed 75-200 million in Europe, Africa and Asia.
  9. Plague of JUSTINIAN Bubonic Plague (541-542) Killed 25 million, half the population of Europe
  10. ANTONINE Plague (165AD) Killed 5 million in Asia Minor, Egypt, Greece and Italy.

With Covid-19 we could try what happened in the past, and we may end up that way with opening up to soon, or we could look at why most people are sickness free.

I am tackling just one part of our immune system, Vitamin “D”. This is because it is used in our bodies in many ways, helps with calcium and bone building, used to controlling “T” cells in our immune system. It is produced by the sun as our food system doesn’t supply enough most days.

With this pandemic we are having, it’s important to get your blood checked to find out if you are deficient in Vitamin D. If you eat eggs, fortified milk, tuna or salmon, cod liver oil, or stand in the sun you will take in vitamin D. Vitamin D was added to milk in the 1930’s because of the outbreak of rickets. The cause of rickets is a deficiency in vitamin D or calcium. Since most food don’t carry enough Vitamin D you need the sun or supplements, to get around 600IU a day.

If you now take in the right amount of Vitamin D are you then OK? No, because other things you take in may deplete Vitamin D. Cholesterol or high blood pressure medication may decrease vitamin D production. Been overweight stores Vitamin D in your fat cells not allowing enough into your bloodstream. You need dietary fats to help dissolve vitamin D. Sun screen blocks the production of Vitamin D. Some diseases also reduce the absorption.

This is why it is so important to get you vitamin D levels checked out by a doctor. And remember ask the question, why do some people not get sick.
